The best thanksgiving I ever had...

The best thanksgiving I ever had was 2 years ago. We went over to my grandparents house to have thanksgiving with them. We smoked the turkey that year. After about an hour we got there we went to go and check on the turkey and when my dad lifted the top fire just exploded out of it! My dad wasn't hurt, but the turkey was destroyed! So instead on smoked turkey we went to KFC and had their chicken. Ever since that turkey we have always been careful about smoking turkey. That is my favorite thanksgiving.

Nursing at Career Day

Today we had career day at school.. We have a tradition in my family and that is to either be a nurse, doctor or just work at a hospital, and I want to keep that tradition in my family. When I was little, I always wanted to a nurse just like my mom and I still do. I want to follow my mom's steps and become a nurse. I still have a while before I have truly decided for what I want to be when I grow up, but I can at least get an idea of things that I would like to do when I grow up. I would like to become an RN.

A callused heart

This week in spiritual emphasis week we talked about the callused heart. There is a long process that is taken to get closer to God. You think that you are close to Him when you are actually not. I thought that I was one of those people but I thought deeper and realized that I wasn't that close to God. I listened very close to the speaker and listened to all he had to say. He changed my life, and I just want to thank him for that.

Battle Stragities that were used in Act 4 and 5 of "Julius Caesar"

My project that I did for English was about the map's and battle stragities of act's 4 and 5. There were 2 battles. In those two battles Cassius and Brutus both killed themselves by running on their own swords that they killed Julius Caesar with. Both the battles were in Philippi, which is located near Greece.

A true friend in the past and present

A true friend is someone who is there for you through the tough, rough, the good, bad, ups and downs. You can tell your friend anything and they will either give you advice, help you, and not tell anyone. They are the kind of person that you can sit down with and tell them anything. Everyone has at least one true friend. Caesar had one true friend and that was Antony. Antony was always with Caesar. He promised Caesar that revenge would come upon the men that killed him, and when a friend keeps a promise that promise should not be broken.  

Do people still chase after wealth and social status today? -"The Necklace"

I think that people do still chase after wealth. If a person sees someone else who is wealthy, then they will become jealous of their possessions they have. It is a natural instinct for people to become jealous of other people or things. Being wealthy is worthwhile. Everybody has their own status. Most people might not have the option of somethings they do in life.

Plans for being a Freshman

My academic goal is making good grades on those REALLY hard tests is not easy, so I hope to make really good grades this year. Also to study for tests better. My social goal  is to meet new people and  getting to know them would besomething I would like to do. My spiritual goal is getting closer to God and learning more about Him. 

Journey

      The sled symbolizes Jonas's first memory. Which is a journey for him. Journey's can be sad, happy. Not all of his journey's were happy. Some are long and some are short.
